  • Civic amenities are being provided to leprosy colonies on the intervention of the Human Rights Commission.
  • More than 90% of cases were referred to the Human Rights Commission and were decided in favour of people affected by leprosy.
  • Public Interest Litigation (PIL) was submitted to the Supreme Court of India, seeking amendments in the provisions of the derogatory Acts.
  • Odisha State Government amended the Local Panchayat Election Act.
  • People affected by leprosy are being invited into decision-making processes at the Government level.
  • The Voice of the people affected by leprosy is now being heard at various levels.
  • WHO has published guidelines on strengthening the participation of people affected by leprosy in leprosy services, these guidelines were translated into the Hindi language.
